Today I will need lots of caffeine. I have tons of things to do in the house. I don't really post to much in the mornings because I try to get things done but I thought I would put in a quick one.

I will be doing major laundry today. Sometimes I feel that there are more than 3 people in this house. The laundry is never ending.

Yesterday my husband bought 2 Sunday papers. One for me and one for my sister. We were way to busy going through the family photo albums. We spent hours looking at them. We looked at them up until we were walking out the door to take her to the airport. I want to find some time to read the paper and cut my coupons.

Well, I am out of here for now.

We are having such a wonderful time. These last few days have been amazing. I can't believe how much I miss my sister. I only have one more day with her. We are going to go through the photo album and I told her she can take some pictures. I got almost all of the pictures when my mom died and I told her to go through them. We have been watching movies and went to a great butcher so my sister could bring home some great Italian sauage and then went to a place called Portillo's to get Italian beef. Tomorrow morning we are going to food saver everything so she can fit everything in her carry on bag.

My brother and nephew came by today. It was fun. I made deep fried breaded mushrooms, chicken tenders and mac and cheese. We sat around telling stories and laughing like crazy. I am so happy my husband was off these pass 2 days. He has to go back to work tomorrow but is going to get off at 2:30 so we can take my sister to the airport. Her flight leaves at 5:20pm. It is going by way too fast. Hopefully, my daughter and I will get to spend 2 weeks at her place this summer.

I just love swimming in her pool with my niece and daughter.

I never did send in my application for the job since I can't drive. I guess I am just not ready to get a job even though we really need the extra income. Maybe within 6 months.

I missed my niece's baby shower today. My niece on my husband's side. Since my sister was only in for 3 days I know she understood. I will probably talk to one of my sister in laws on Monday to find out how it went. I love baby showers because of all the new and cute baby clothes and furniture. I know she probably made out very well.

I am off to take care of business.

Tomorrow is the big day. My big sister (16 months older) is coming in. We haven't seen each other in almost 2 years. Way too long. I have to get up early tomorrow to make sure everything is in order and all the beds are made. My hubby and I are taking our daughter to school and then heading to the airport. It is about an hour drive to the airport.

After we pick her up we are going out for pizza.

She doesn't get very good pizza in Tennessee. She also wants to go buy some sausage and italian beef. She wants to use some of my food saver bags and freeze the food to take back with her.

My hubby is suffering from some kind of stomach bug. I hope he feels better by tomorrow morning because he has to drive to the airport. My sister said if he is still sick she will rent a car and drive to my house.

We are also celebrating my birthday tomorrow.

I noticed as I get older that birthdays aren't that exciting anymore. The only thing making this birthday great is my sister coming in. I know I will always remember this one.

I want to wish everyone a great Friday and wonderful weekend.

Almost finished

I am almost through with my to do list. Only 8 more things and I am done. I want to leave the washing of floors, dusting and vacuuming until Thursday. My hubby walked in from work today and said wow the house smells great and I said to him this is nothing wait until Thursday. He smelled the Pine-Sol I was using to wash the mini blinds. At this point I won't have any spring cleaning to do. Not sure if I am going to wash down all the wood work. I asked hubby to do it since I have a hard time on my knees. I don't think he will have the time. I think I will wait on that.

Just wanted to put that graphic in to just pretend I am driving. LOL Only 88 more days until I can drive.

Monday, February 20, 2006

This is going to be a short entry because I have about 20 things to do before my sister gets here on Friday.

Plus, my daughter has a few major projects due this week so I will be busy helping her with those. She is in her bedroom right now cleaning it. Ever since she came home from the campout it looks like a tornado hit it.

Well everyone have a great Monday.

Saturday, February 18, 2006

I guess I got my wish for colder weather because we woke up this morning to -6 degrees. I walked my daughter to the end of our garage at 7am because she went with the girl scout's camping. Thank goodness they will be indoors sleeping because I don't think I would have let her go otherwise.

My hubby informed me last night that he was doing another moving side job today. He had to take the movies with him to drop off after his job. I didn't get to watch Proof. What a waste of money. My sister hasn't seen it yet so when she comes in next week I told her we could rent it and watch it. She does not want to go to downtown Chicago if it is going to be cold. I don't blame her because I don't want to walk near the lake either.

I just got through making a big pot of chili  and a big pot of spaghetti and meatballs.  I am set for awhile now. I still have ribs leftover from the other day. I am not cooking until Tuesday or Wednesday.

It is going to be a long weekend by myself. I do have tons of magazines and about 3 books I am reading and I need to make a dent in. My daughter gets home sometime tomorrow afternoon. Hubby starts his regular job at 6am unless they call him to start at 2am which I think he won't do. He is going to be so sore from moving. He could barely move last night. I told him he should take a jacuzzi but he doesn't like it.

Since I only got 2 hours of sleep last night, I think I will take a nap.

Well, I just got through mailing

my license to the state. I had to drive 2 blocks without my license and I passed by the police station on my way home. I only live about a block from the station.Thank goodness I wasn't stopped.

It may be torture but I will be counting down from 90 days. I know it will kill me once the nice weather kicks in, so I am asking for 90 more days of cold, cold weather. NO, just kidding.

In a few entries back I was counting down the days until spring.

My daughter and I just got through watching a movie called . It was a cute PG movie.  We also watched Just Like Heaven. It was a nice movie but some parts it was too slow. I have one more movie called Proof  which I am going to watch with my hubby tomorrow. I will have to remind him that he has to take back the movies since I can't drive. lol

My hubby had  2 side jobs today. He used to be a mover and we still keep in touch with one of his best friends who has his own truck so he went to make some extra money. Maybe one day we will be

rolling in the dough.

I think I will go read some journals. Everyone have a great

Last Day of Driving

cold outside

Baby, its cold outside. Of course on my last day of driving for 3 months it would have to feel like the Alaska weather.

I have already gone to the bank, library, Sam's Club, Hostess bread store, Berkot's Food Store and now I am thinking of running back out to get some movies. I filled up the tank so I might as well use it since it is my last day of driving. I am going to go crazy without driving.

Maybe with me not driving I will get back to walking my neighbors dog and getting some exercise to start losing this weight.

I received a beautiful and very touching birthday card from my sister in law today. It is a week early but that means that I get to celebrate for a week. LOL

Ok, I am off and running to Blockbuster.

I will probably post later on tonight.

Not too much going on today. I ran to Office Max at 8 am to pick up my daughter's project poster. Boy, those posters have really gone up in years. Almost $8.00 for 1. I remember a few years back they were about $3. I also had to go to Cub Foods

and pick up some milk and my daughter mentioned the other day that she would like ribs. I made Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger this morning because I knew my hubby was coming home for lunch at 10:30 am. He had some of that and when he was finished with work at 3 he had some ribs. Thank goodness I made both. My daughter had a rib with bread and butter and she was out the door because my neighbor wanted to take her into town with his daughter and then drop them off at girl scout's. I have some good neighbors.

I just want to say that I had one of the best nights sleep last night in a long time.

I hope I am back on track. Fell asleep at 10:30 and woke up at 6 am. I love that because I can get dressed and cleaned up before I even wake up my daughter.

Yesterday it got up to 56 degrees. My husband, neighbor and I sat outside. It was so beautiful. I am counting down the days until spring. 35 more days. Yeah. Today it is 26 degrees with the wind chill. Crazy, crazy weather.

I think I will go read for awhile. Have a great evening.

Valentine's Day

I just want to wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day. I am really not doing anything special today. I might go to the store and make some cupcakes with pink frosting.

My husband left me a love note with some hershey's kisses on it.

We are trying to watch our money so I asked him not to buy me anything this year. My birthday is in 10 days so I told him if he wanted to buy me something to get me an aloe plant. Since we bought this house I have been buying different plants and putting them all over the house. Last spring and summer I had them outside so when fall came we had a hard time putting them all inside. I found a nice spot where the sun comes in. I put 2 of the big plants on top of the entertainment center. They look beautiful. I guess I do have a great thumb.

The library called last night and told me my book was in. Right now I am reading A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. I wasn't going to read it but when I seen it at the library I thought I would give it a try.

I had a great night's sleep last night. I took 2 Tylenol PM's about 8pm and they worked great. My husband work called at about 10pm and I was on the computer so I put in the message that I would answer and they hung up. I tried to call them back but no one answered. My husband said that they won't leave a message on answering machines or computers and they will just go on to the next guy on the list. He seemed pretty angry. I guess I won't be on the computer passed 10 pm.

There are so many great Valentine's graphics that I just want to put all of them on today's entry. I wrote in one ladies journal that we are going to have to join graphics/clipart anonymous. There are a few of us out that can spend hours just looking through all the graphics. I think I am going to put these graphics on a cd and save them because I know I am using up tons of space on my computer.

Well, it is almost 9am and I want to get dressed and have another cup of coffee before I decide what I am going to do. Again, everyone have a
