The Weekend

I don't have much going on this weekend. My husband is working. He decided to take off today so we could do some major running around. We are invited to a bbq on Sunday but my hubby doesn't get off work until 6:30 pm. We still might go for a little while.

I thought this was my daughter's last full day of school but I was wrong. She has a full day on Tuesday and half day on Wednesday. She is off on Thursday which happens to be her 12th birthday and goes for an hour on Friday. We are both going to get our hair done on that day and then go for either pizza

or mexican food. I think my daughter wants mexican. I called my mother in law and asked her to go and I am pretty sure she wants to go. I told her I would call her during the week.

Our running around today consisted of first going to the bank then to Wal-mart where I was going to get about 5 things. 50 items later we left and went to Sam's Club where we spent over 200 dollars. It gets very expensive to eat healthy. I then told my hubby that we needed to go to Cub Foods to get some spinach, salad and some fruit.

Whenever I bring my hubby we always spend more. We don't have to shop for a month.

I did really good with eating today. I got up this morning and had 2 breakfast burritos. They are more like breakfast tacos since I use 2 corn tortillas but saying burritos makes them sound bigger. When we came home from shopping I had the rest of my homemade chicken/vegetable soup. I don't know why I had that because it was so hot and humid in the house. I had a yogurt and glass of orange juice later on and then a slice of angel food cake with fresh blackberries and fat free cool whip. I got in about 48 ozs of water.

I made my daughter some veal parmesan with spaghetti when she came home from school. She always seems so hungry after school. My hubby made himself a steak on the grill with my leftover homemade cole slaw. I always ask him for a bite of his steak when he makes one. I may splurge this weekend and have a steak. I have been sticking with chicken breasts and salmon fillets. I bought some portabello mushrooms and I am thinking of grilling one and putting it on a bun with all the fixings like a hamburger. I think I will look on line for some kind of marinade for it.

Tomorrow I am going to spend a lot of time Food Savering all my chicken breasts, thighs and all the other food we bought. Ok I am sorry enough about food.

I want to wish everyone a safe and fun

Oooo you just made me hungry ;)  I hope you get to go to the cookout for a little while and enjoy yourself.  I know what you mean about healthy food being expensive, thats why I am growing my own tomatoes now.  You inspire me to start drinking more water, I do about 36 oz a day I need to do more to help with losing weight.  How has you walking been going this week?  I did 4 miles on saturday then walked at lunch 4 days during the day on my lunch hour for about 20 mins each day.  Augh I wish it was as easy to lose as it is to put on. Be safe this weekend and have a GREAT time.

Doesn't a steak sound yummy ?  Like you, I've been trying to drop the pounds, but is is sooo frustrating.  My husband just lost a bunch of weight, and that's made me even more determined, although it seems to drop off of men alot more easily than it does us gals ...not fair ! lol   Enjoy your holiday weekend ... Try to eat a good amount of beef every week even though your dieting.  I'm big on eating lots of chicken, turkey and fish but then a few months ago, I learned I know have a protein deficiency from not eating enough beef.  Now I'm taking protein supplements to build it back up in my body.  I now eat a steak every week.  Have a good weekend.
